With this guiding principle, the Altstadt Hotel in Bielefeld has been comprehensively renovated and individually refurbished. Healthy flooring and pleasantly quiet acoustics are provided by PURLINE, the non-toxic organic flooring from wineo®.
Comfort and ecology in harmony
Flooring makes a substantial contribution to making hotel guests feel comfortable. For the 600 square metres of newly renovated space in the small city centre hotel, the operators therefore made sure they selected a healthy type of flooring, which is completely free of chlorine, plasticisers and solvents and therefore does not produce any emissions that could affect the indoor air quality and present a health risk.
PURLINE by wineo® is made from natural and renewable raw materials (caster oil and chalk) and is therefore completely non-toxic and emission-free. The organic flooring also offers other convincing benefits, which were a determining factor in the choice of product.
As well as the health aspect, PURLINE is also the best possible solution in terms of economic efficiency, since it is hard-wearing (utilisation class 43), odour-neutral, easy-care and long-lasting. An analysis of life-cycle costs (carried out by the Pfiff Institute), reveals that the organic flooring offers significant savings of up to 30 percent compared with other flexible floors. In addition, heavy furniture such as cupboards and beds do not leave behind any lasting traces of indentation, thanks to the almost 100 percent resilience ensured by the materials used. PURLINE is also safe in the event of a fire, as no toxic gases can be produced and the build-up of smoke is so minimal that escape routes remain visible.
To complete the existing vintage look in the lobby and reception areas, 350 square metres of PURLINE stone was fitted in a dirt-resistant, dark-grey concrete look in the Puro Carbon design. The healthy and large-format PURLINE tiles (1000 x 500 mm) feature a fine pearl structure and are free from chlorine, plasticisers and solvents.
