Project description
10.000 m² of PURLINE for the health insurance fund. Ten out of 60 AOK Rheinland/Hamburg branches have already been refurbished. Proximity and service – these are the core brand values of AOK Rheinland/Hamburg. And these are also to be reflected visually: as a first step, the corporate design was given a fresh new look. This is now being followed by the gradual refurbishment of 60 branches in North Rhine-Westphalia and Hamburg. Ten of these have already been completed: what they all have in common is a pleasant, feel-good atmosphere, for which the newly laid wineo flooring is largely responsible.
The interior design was created by the Düsseldorf-based creative agency kplus konzept. The challenge during the planning and implementation phase was to create a consistent look and feel across all floor plans. This was achieved through a modular design concept – consistently tailored to customers and their needs, comfortable for staff, modern and sustainable. As a result, alongside large waiting areas with cosy seating and quiet corners for discreet consultations, there are also open workspaces, quiet zones and a central coffee corner serving as a meeting place for staff.
The PURLINE 1500 , which is being installed in all 60 branches of the Gesundheitskasse, creates a friendly and trusting atmosphere. The flooring will later be laid across a total area of more than 10,000 m² in the branches of AOK Rheinland/Hamburg. The designers opted for the long planks of the wineo 1500 wood L Canyon Oak Sand range, which create a homely atmosphere with their warm wood tone and visually emphasise the concept of sustainability. These are complemented by the wineo 1500 chip Racing Green roll flooring. The colour tone harmonises perfectly with the characteristic AOK green.
In addition to aesthetic considerations, three criteria were particularly decisive in the selection of the flooring: environmental compatibility, durability and well-being. PURLINE is a sustainable, permanently elastic polyurethane floor covering in which the petrochemical polyols typically used in the polyurethane formulation have been replaced by natural oils. The basis is ecuran, a high-performance composite material produced predominantly from vegetable oils such as rapeseed or castor oil and naturally occurring mineral components such as chalk, without the addition of chlorine, plasticisers or solvents. The material does not release any harmful substances into the indoor air and is completely odourless.
As more than 500 people pass through the health insurance fund’s premises every day, the flooring needs to be comfortable underfoot, quiet, non-slip and hard-wearing. This is where the sustainable flooring really comes into its own: the surface withstands heavy footfall without showing signs of wear. The resilient surface is gentle on the joints and effectively absorbs impact noise. Thanks to its smooth surface, wheelchairs can be manoeuvred easily across the floor.
The choice of PURLINE flooring also benefits the cleaning team. It is stain-resistant and easy to clean. No special cleaning products or additional maintenance are required – saving time and, above all, costs.
In the production of wineo PURLINE and in the sourcing of raw materials, the manufacturer Windmöller attaches great importance to sustainability. In line with the Cradle-to-Cradle concept, materials, products and corporate responsibility are assessed in terms of their overall environmental impact. All production stages are ‘made in Germany’, which guarantees short supply chains. Various environmental labels, such as the Cradle-to-Cradle Silver certificate, the Blue Angel, the TÜV ProfiCert and numerous country-specific certifications, confirm the product’s outstanding environmental performance.
Furthermore, PURLINE has a positive impact on building certifications such as DGNB, LEED, BREEAM and WELL. Dedicated EPDs for the PURLINE organic flooring product range provide transparency for architects.
