What is a design flooring?

Whether it's called vinyl flooring, designer vinyl or designer floor coverings, for us it means design flooring. As a wineo product, it's sophisticated, impressive and – of course – high-quality. Designed for stunning living and working spaces, suitable for a range of rooms and requirements and made to be as comfortable and convenient as possible for day-to-day life.

We offer the design flooring in different formats and variants. These include product variants for gluing and for clicking, in order to have as much room for manoeuvre as possible when designing the room with a vinyl floor. The product structure for clicking as a rigid variant is available in the wineo 600. The permanently elastic flooring can be combined for the most diverse areas of use, in modern designs for the style-conscious.

The most frequently asked questions about design floorings

What is design flooring?

The design flooring is an elastic floor covering with a resistant surface, which can also have different surface structures. The use of different materials makes the floor covering elastic. This has the great advantage of increasing walking comfort. Due to the elastic surface, the vinyl flooring is also pleasantly warm to the feet, so that you do not get cold feet even on cold days. This is particularly advantageous when there is no underfloor heating
Which types of design flooring are there?

There are different types of design flooring. The best known variant is the click variant with 4.5 - 5 mm in the entire product thickness. This variant is very popular because the flooring is very easy to install. As a counterpart there is the design floor for gluing with about 2 - 2.5 mm in the total product thickness. This type of design floor is firmly glued to the subfloor and forms a unit. Then there is the variant of the multi-layer. Here, the elastic surface is laminated onto an HDF carrier (as with a laminate floor) and additional footfall sound insulation is often applied to the underside. Due to the stable HDF core board, this type of design flooring is very suitable for renovations, as even minimal unevenness in the subfloor can be compensated for.
How is a design flooring laid correctly?

Laying a design flooring is very easy, at least as far as the click variant is concerned. Here you need few tools, usually a cutter knife is sufficient to shorten the design planks. The actual installation of the Click design floor is then very simple: The individual planks are inserted into each other in an offset manner and the head connection is then locked with a white rubber mallet. In the case of the adhesive design floor, the so-called sheets are placed in an adhesive bed on a trowelled surface. Is it possible to install design flooring over underfloor heating?

Yes, the design flooring can be laid on underfloor heating. However, you should make sure that the surface temperature does not permanently exceed 27°C.
Is a design floor suitable for high humidity areas?

Yes, a design flooring is suitable for high humidity rooms and can therefore also be laid in a bathroom, but wet rooms are excluded here. When laying the floor in a bathroom, a corresponding wall edge should be created. This can be done, for example, by grouting with silicone using a pre-filling cord.
How do you clean a design flooring properly?

Cleaning a design flooring is very easy. As the largest amount of dirt is loose, it is often sufficient to simply clean the surface with a vacuum cleaner and wipe the floor with a damp cloth. As our design floors are equipped with a hard-wearing surface protection at the factory, only cleaners approved for PU-coated floor coverings should be used here.
