Located in the centre of the Dutch city of Zwolle, this menswear boutique offers the most exclusive fashion for all generations aged 18 to 65. With top fashion brands ranging from Reign Italia, Replay, Tod’s, Emporio Armani and Zegna to bespoke shirts and suits, the DSTRCT 38 store is the go-to destination for the style-conscious man.

The décor of the shop on Luttekestraat is just as exclusive as the fashion labels themselves. The 140 square metre shop boasts a minimalist, elegant interior, stripped back to the essentials and focused on the exclusive range on offer. Key design elements include elegant vintage-style leather armchairs, spacious display tables crafted from fine cherry wood, and the PURLINE flooring from wineo, laid in a state-of-the-art herringbone pattern. The vibrancy of the wood finish and its unusual laying pattern make it an absolute eye-catcher from every angle, visually reinforcing the shop’s unique style and the overall concept.

The architects at the renowned commercial interior design firm Vinke Beilen were commissioned to plan and implement the store concept. When planning the flooring, they did not base their decision solely on visual considerations, but placed particular emphasis on a flooring solution that is sustainable and cost-effective, both in its manufacture and throughout its service life. Consequently, the permanently elastic wineo PURLINE from the manufacturer Windmöller – produced predominantly from renewable and natural materials – was selected. This sustainable organic polyurethane flooring boasts impressive material and performance characteristics and offers a wide range of modern designs for sophisticated and stylish shop interiors.

The authentic Acadia wood design, with its country-house plank look, was chosen for the DSTRCT 38 store. The organic flooring planks, 2.5 mm thick and 20 cm wide, were laid here in a diagonal, staggered pattern. This creates a striking floor design that lends the exclusive menswear boutique a distinctive and stylish ambience.

PURLINE – all-natural, stylish and high-performance

PURLINE is a high-quality, permanently elastic and joint-friendly polyurethane flooring based on ecuran. Ecuran from Windmöller is a sustainable, high-performance composite material produced predominantly from renewable raw materials such as rapeseed or castor oil and chalk. This bio-based flooring is free from substances such as plasticisers, solvents (VOCs) or chlorine compounds, thus ensuring that the indoor air is free from harmful substances and odourless. With usage classes 23/34/43 and a recovery rate of almost 100 per cent, PURLINE meets the high standards for floor durability: the flooring is extremely hard-wearing, offers excellent UV resistance, is particularly temperature-stable, completely odourless and easy to maintain. Furthermore, thanks to its extremely low lifetime costs, it is highly economical. PURLINE delivers savings of up to 30 per cent compared with conventional resilient flooring (according to a study by the Pfiff Institute). And its impact sound insulation ensures quiet room acoustics in DISTRICT 38, which customers find very pleasant.

Award-winning and multi-certified

PURLINE is manufactured in Germany and holds building authority approval from the DIBT (Ü mark). It boasts numerous international quality and emissions-related certifications, including the Blue Angel environmental label and GreenGuard Gold, and has already been honoured seven times by architects with internationally recognised design and innovation awards. Just recently, PURLINE received the prestigious ‘Cradle to Cradle’ Silver certification. ‘Cradle to Cradle’ is an international quality standard that certifies the use of environmentally safe, healthy and recyclable materials, the use of solar energy or other renewable energy sources, the responsible use of water, and the company’s strategies regarding social responsibility.
